1)I have made a thermometer which measures temperature by the compressing and expanding of gas in a piston. I have measured that at 1000 C the volume of the piston is 20 L. What is the temperature outside if the piston has a volume of 15 L? What would be appropriate clothing for the weather?

2)How hot will a 2.3 L balloon have to get to expand to a volume of 400 L? Assume that the initial temperature of the balloon is 25 0C.

I have a set of gas analysis, the flow rate is 39658.38 Ib/hr, gas density is 0.672. In this case, an amount of 15590.4 Ib/hr vapour need to add to this set of gas. How should I calculate the mole % for the new set of stream which consist of water.

Gas analysis as follow:
Gas Mole%
Nitrogen 0.8
Methane 86.52
Carbon dioxide 10.72
ethane 1.69
propane 0.19
i-butane 0.04
n-pentane 0.01
hydrogen sulfide 0.01

in the separation of zinc and iron:
add 5drops of 5% thioacetamide and heat the mixture in a hot water bath. then, add 6 M HCl to the precipitate until it dissolves. after that, heat the solution, then neutralize it with 6 M NH3 (ammonia). also, add 10 drops of 1 M HCl before adding 5 drops of 0.1 M K4Fe(CN)6.

why do we need to add 10 drops of 1 M HCl when we already added 6 M HCl and neutralized it?

thanks! :)
