A bottle of Louisiana hot sauce accidentally froze and broke spilling the contents into a coin tray. A Canadian Loonie (1$ coin) was encased in the hot sauce ice. Upon thawing the hot sauce turned green (Cu?) and the face of the coin was erased. Answers from Louisiana appreciated.

The hot sauce came from a patent agent that I have business with. Should I find another agent ;->?

this was what my notes says:

AlCl3(s) + 6H2O(l) --> [Al(H2O)6]3+(aq) + 3Cl-(aq)

[Al(H2O)6]3+ (aq) --> [Al(H2O)5(OH)]2+ (aq) + H+ (aq)

Al3+ has high charge density, able to polarise and weaken O-H in H2O of [Al(H2O)6]3+(aq) to release acidic H+.

!!!!! can someone kindly elaborate more?

also... how Al3+ is produced? i cant see it in the equations...
what is high charge density?
what is hydrolysis?

thx... thx...

I asked this question in the health section and never got a really clear answer so I figured I'd ask it here. I assume the testing is done per NIDA standards. I have a Rx for Xanax but not for Valium. If I got tested would the test distinguish between the 2 drugs or would it simply come back positive for benzodiazepines?

can someone show me how to use the data to solve this problem? Thank you so much.

When 10.0 g of mercuric nitrate, Hg(NO3)2 is dissolved in 1.00 kg of water, the freezing point of the solution is -0.162 C. When 10.0 g of mercuric chloride, HgCl2 is dissolved in 1.00 kg of water, the solution freezes at -0.0685 C. Use these data to determine which is the stronger electrolyte, Hg(NO3)2 or HgCl2.
