I asked this question in the health section and never got a really clear answer so I figured I'd ask it here. I assume the testing is done per NIDA standards. I have a Rx for Xanax but not for Valium. If I got tested would the test distinguish between the 2 drugs or would it simply come back positive for benzodiazepines?

no it will not differentiate ......it will just come back positive for benzos. Do you want to know why? Or is the answer sufficient?

Since they are not the exact chemical compound, I would think the test would differentiate between the two, but a lot depends on what test is being used. God Bless you.

most test just show positive for benzos, if you have a prescription for xanax or valium you should be covered, for the prescription drug....when in doubt dont take anything not prescribed to you, by a md..........
