Paranormal Phenomena

I am looking for genuine answers here...not some insipid crap that I watch fall off people's fingertips around here constantly.

There was an abandoned mental hospital relatively close to where I had spent the majority of my life. I felt very passionately about preserving the building and in its final days spent as much time lurking around it as possible. I had never gone there to look for ghosts, for it was truly the historical value that drew me to this place.

I took my friend Nicole for a trip up there one night, just to drive by. To keep a long story short, I had pulled up to the main gate and was about to do a three pointer to head back out. When I looked into the rear view, I saw what looked like a tiny tornado on the side of the road a few hundred feet behind us. It was a funnel of a thick fog-like consistency, about 3-5 feet tall. It struck me as odd, but I didn't think too much of it and thought perhaps there was a drain over where it was coming from.

If there is some kind of supernatural phenomenom going on in my fathers home can it leave and come to my home if it's some kind of ghost or sprit? were trying to find out if anyone passed away in the home but were not sure how to go about looking it up.. all i know is the things that are going on in that house are not normall. lastnight me and my boyfriend satyed at my fathers house just to see if anything else would happen i turned my phone off around 10pm we went to bed around 3am we went into the room i pluged my charger in and put my phone on the charger. we maid the bed and he went out of the room came back and we were talkiong for a few then he got into bed and i turned off the light and i got into bed as well the moment i laid down i heard a noise i asked him was that? my phone had turned on and it had been pluged in for at least 10 mins already so it was not that. i thought it was so i took it off the charger turned it back off then put it back on it didnt turn back on.

We had to toss ours in the garbage many many yrs. ago
and unfortunately we were unaware back then that it wasn't a 'game' so we actually had many unpleasant experiences relating to a real life haunting, of course that was NOT fun whatsoever!! we all wished we'd never touched that stupid thing
at 1st it was just a bunch of gibberish, and we all laughed at it.
But then one week or two had contact w/something uncanny and it was negative ....

I was at my fathers house and in the back bedroom i heard weird noises like someone trying to come in the window and someone in the closet but nothing or no one was there i just thought someone was messing around with the house. well this went on for 2 nights while i was there. This has never happened before while i was there but i didnt pay anymind to it even though some of the noises were so loud it made me jump but i ignored it.. well i finally told my dad about it when it happened in the middle of the day in the same room while i was trying to rest. my father then infromed me that he saw someone walk threw our back fince into the back yard by the pool but noone was there when he went looking. My brother told me in the back room he saw a figure of a person it came right next to the bed an was just like watching him but didnt do anything and it would open the closet doors an a shadow would go on the walls around the room.. others that live in the home seen it as well. please help.

Are you sure a micro tape recorder [those mini one's] wouldn't work?
and a local paranormal researcher investigation group advised me to use an old fashioned one. However I'd prefer to just leave one there over night and it'll automatically come on IF there is any sound or a voice,ect

Mine has, as well as the DVD player turning on by itself
a couple of times while doing the dishes, I'd think to myself, "okay well, it's time to play a movie"
about 5 feet away from the entertainment center one or the other has turned on by itself.
it happened 3-4 times in less than a yr.
how can this be explained exactly?

Like 'some' walk backwards, or some may float backwards and some EVP researchers have to figure out messages which are reversed, WHY?

the sky was clear and in the distance I saw what seem to me a white dove or a white bird then didn't notice wings flapping, Ok next thought a helicopter or airplane it was slowly climbing towards the sky at an angle, it had a shape like a "tear drop" it wasn't a helicopter or airplane, then kept watching it for couple of seconds and just disappeared , i thought maybe it made a turn because i've seen airplanes where they make a turn and seem like they disappear but didn't, i kept watching but nothing the thing or aircraft was gone. any ideas??

If you dont believe in anything having to do with anything paranormal, why do you insist on being here.Do you feel like your smarter, better educated. Science is supposed to be open minded about any subject, yet a lot of you quote science and are so closed minded about everything that has to do with the paranormal. I admit, I find certain aspects hard to believe myself. But I went from being a skeptic to believing because I have had activity happen around me.
I could argue with you that evolution is pure theory, to show me unequivacle proof, and you cannot do it. Evolution has never been proven, its just an accepted theory. Science is still looking for the proof to this moment.
Science says there was a Big Bang to start the universe, but they cant say what caused it, therefore its just a theory. Its accepted as fact yet there is no proof it happened.
So why so closed minded about anything paranormal

While on a ghost walk this past week-end, my friend and I attended a lecture on dowsing. It was quite interesting. I had only heard of it from years ago when people would use a dowsing rod to find water. This gentleman is actually consulted regarding various topics and uses a crystal pendulum as his tool. We were given the opportunity to test out dowsing skills when finding another's aura. Very interesting as while watching someone else do this you can never know if they aren't moving the rods themselves. But when you do it and know you are not moving them and they move, well, pretty astounding.

Anyone have any experience with this?

While attending a ghost walk in our city over the week-end, my friend and I talked to representatives from two places that conduct "ghost hunts" and allow the general public to attend, for a fee of course ($20 for one & $30 for the other). You go from 9 PM to 5 AM and can leave whenever you want. You are asked to bring a camera and a tape recorder and conduct a survey. One of these places is in Bethel, New York and was on Ghost Hunters. It used to be a school, a funeral home and an insane asylum. We are going to that one.

Would you go?

Ok tonight I was taking pictures of my neice and dog, when I started noticing bubbles in them, then my mom had to tell me that that's what spirits look like, so I did some research online after she left and saw that this was true, I have some pics and could someone tell me what it is! It's kind of creeping me out!

I'm a freshman college student, and I'm staying at the dorm with my friend. Strangely, I feel like we're not alone. Arounf midnight, I hear this eerie "tap, tap, tap" in dormitory corridor. Like someone's walking. Sometimes, there's this feeling that someone's in the room with us. There's this chair in our dorm, and my friend and roommate TJ doesn't want to sit in that same exact chair! One time, I got out of bed and looked out the window. I saw this figure of a lonely Spanish girl, watching the waves. She's sobbing. The, she disappeared! The same thing happens every night. She's there, watching the waves with an air of melancholy.
