I'm not sure if this counts but sometimes my cd player starts playing on its own right when I wake up. I've had other weird stuff happen too.

I know some people will make fun of me but I really don't care. I know my cd player doesn't have a timer.

Sometimes I see weird flashes of light, doors open by themselves and lights suddenly turn on. Thats all I can remember right now.

I really wouldn't jump to that conclusion. When you're dealing with electronics, there are SO many natural possibilities for why they may malfunction that there is little point in considering the wild supernatural explanations. tsr's answer is a good one.

If your not only experiencing things turning on by themselves, but doors opening on their own, flashing, then the possibility is very good you have activity. if this only happens when waking, or presleep, then thats another thing all together. First you must eliminate everything. Are the doors easily opened. unplug the power to the CD for a few days.document what times this stuffis going on and what the circumstances are when the activity happens. do this for about a month so you can get a grasp of whats going on. the more you know, the more you understand, that goes withou saying. But keep a log, and if you have one, keep a digital camera near you so you can take pics of the area when this happens. I you have a DVR, put it on long record and leave it on all night on your dresser. see what you hear. Document, document, and finally document. If you ever do have a team come in, they will appreciate the info for a baseline to start at.
EDIT ERICA : You have sleep apnia. This has been well documented and researched. The OLD HAG Syndrom is what your referring to. Sleep apnia is a sleep disorder that can be treated. I have had this happen to me and so has about 90% of the population. Your body is trying to wake up usually due to your not breathing, but your brain hasnt awakened yet, so you cant move or scream, your paralized, although your body is awake, your brain hasnt caught up. see a sleep specialist soon. this can be fatal!!!!

I don't know if cd players have this...but could there be a timer on it or an alarm that makes it go off? I guess you'd already know about that if it had one. Just a guess. Why didn't you tell the other weird stuff that's happened to you ? Maybe it's all connected in some way. Why don't you "Edit" and tell us!!?Thanks .PS..Some people on here will make fun of what you say...but others will try to help you understand it.
EDIT..IS YOUR CD PLAYER BATTERY OPERATED OR ELEC.? IF IT'S PLUGGED IN..THIS COULD ALL BE ELECTICAL PROBLEMS.I feel sorry for that guy with night terrors. I have nightmares. I wonder if he has researched incubus etc. But, if he's on medication..that (medicine)can give you nightmares too.
EDIT SORRY ERICA....DIDN'T SEE ..YOU'RE A GIRL.SORRY.

It sounds like poltergeist.
"Malaysia" wrote that is "not only" caused by dead people, but also by living people. In my view, poltergeist is always caused by living people.
Poltergeist usually happens with teenagers, usually people who are emotional by nature, usually female, and it gets less over the years. But there are cases where people had it pretty badly, and they kept on having it. I hope that you learn what's going on in your mind at the moment these things happen. Maybe that's a way to start controlling it.
I read a practical book from Joshua Warren that tries to explains some supernatural occurences scientifically. ("how to hunt for ghosts"). Good luck

Experiment with it. See if it comes on at exactly the same time (and could have a timer you're not aware of), or if it's only when something else happens (like when you switch on a light). Have someone else look at it. Finally, unplug your CD player. If it still plays you may have something to worry about.

It concerns me that you would assume this is a paranormal event, assuming you haven't rule out all possibilities.

Ive experienced a ghost shadow thing.

It wasn't all that amazing... but I was home alone caring for my cat (she had just gotten declawed)... and we have a big screen TV and I saw a black figure walk through our kitchen, from the reflection in the TV. At first I looked behind me, nothing was there and I figured it HAD to be something on TV.

Well, I told my mom that night, and she MADE me tell my step dad, who then told me he's seen things walking around the house. He's been laying on the couch at night and seen a black figure walk from my brother's room to him and my mom's room.

Creepy.

Yes, I've had a few things happen to me. They all happened when I was in high school. Its a long story, so I really can't go into it. I have had three big things happen to me in that house. When my dad got married, everything started happening to my step mom. It make since that the spirit was trying to get in contact with me and then my step mom. The family that moved out; moved out because his wife died in the house. She never tried to hurt us, but it would scare the crap out of you when something would fall and you know it shouldn't have. I wish I knew what she wanted though. Anyway I believe in spirits and them trying to get in touch with you and it can happen in all different ways and sometimes the way they do it can mean something.

Wow. That sounds handy!

I've experienced paranormal activity. I had a radio in my bedroom that turned itself on one night while I was in the living room reading. I went and shut it off, not really thinking about it too much the first time. The second time it happened (about 30 min later?), I unplugged it cause it was too weird.

I thought maybe the switch was going bad, but it didn't do that again....so who knows?

I also have odd things happen in my house now and again, but they seem to center around my roommate...so I think it's his emotional stuff causing it.

Good luck...

I heard a female voice call my name once when I was almost asleep. I have seen sparks of light ever since I was little.
