I have an electric motor that uses a 30 amp draw to operate. I have a battery that puts out 3.0 watts and 3.5 volts. How many batteries do I need to operate this motor for a 6 hour period?

In an automatic clothes drier, a hollow cylinder moves the clothes on a vertical circle (radius r = 0.29 m), as the drawing shows. The appliance is designed so that the clothes tumble gently as they dry. This means that when a piece of clothing reaches an angle of above the horizontal, it loses contact with the wall of the cylinder and falls onto the clothes below. How many revolutions per second should the cylinder make in order that the clothes lose contact with the wall when = 67.0°?

ok I used the formula tan(67)=v^2/(0.29(9.8))

so i get V= 2.59 and then I divide it by 2piR, but i get the wrong answer. what am i doing wrong?

In designing rotating space stations to provide for artificial-gravity environments, one of the constraints that must be considered is motion sickness. Studies have shown that the negative effects of motion sickness begin to appear when the rotational motion is faster than approximately 2.1 revolutions per minute. On the other hand, the magnitude of the centripetal acceleration at the astronauts' feet should equal the magnitude of the acceleration due to gravity on earth. Thus, to eliminate the difficulties with motion sickness, designers must choose the distance between the astronaut's feet and the axis about which the space station rotates to be greater than a certain minimum value. What is this minimum value?

I don't know the terms in english but I'll try to explain though....

The information is:
The corp's weight(m)=0.01 Kg
The distance of the corp's oscillation(not the full distance)(Y)=1/2 of the full distance which the corp could reach during the oscillation
Corp's speed(v)=0.17/s
Acceleration(a)=0.07m/s^2

- Whch is the frequency(F)?
- Which is the full distance(A) which the corp reaches during it's oscillation?

thanks ;)

my teacher in physics demonstrated polarization by combing her hair and small pieces of papers were magnetized by the comb. she said that when you do it, the electrons from the hair were transferred to the comb and the comb becomes negatively charged. (or is it the other way around? the comb is the positively charged) anyway,
i remember my chemistry teacher saying the removal of an electron is called ionization. is there ionization happening when you brush the hair with a comb?

Three questions really:

1. How many different types of atom are there?
2. How are electrons generated/formed?
3. Are there any scientific links between the layout of the atom, and that of a 'solar system'?

I'm doing this experiment and i have to write down the order from least to most reactive. The experiment consisted of 4 cups with vinegar and each cup had a metal in it. Metals were: galvanized nail, steel nail(iron), nickel and a penny. I had to watch over the next few days as to what happens to the 4 metals.
