Singles & Dating - 5 October 2006

I hate going to pubs alone, I don't drink much and am giving up smoking. I've joined a class but it doens't seem promising and salsa classes just don't do it for me becasue the music doesn't hit the spot. Work is an obvious choice but then it gets complicated because it's work! Any suggestions?

so heres the story; there was this kid logan, i liked him, he liked me, he asked me out, i said yes, i dumped him a week and a half later. so far the names he uses on a regular basis are b*tch, wh*re, sl*t, motherf*cker, and dumb*ss and has flipped me off countless times. at first i thought it was because he didnt know why i broke up with him, but i told him the reason; he thinks he's all that and used to show off constantly (more like show ME off), but would never call me or talk to me. so far he's called about 6 times since we broke up. hes a pervert too...and it wouldnt hurt to say he's had too many ex gfs to count (and were only what....12?)...he teases me a lot cuz he was only my second boyfriend. at that age, you would think it would be alright, but noo...by the time u get to 7th grade, uve had to have 4 bfs or ur screwed. so thats why i dumped him. i told him that and he was pissed, he even said hes awesome and no girl in the right mind would dump him. how can i ignore him?????

This guy I work with keeps asking me out even though I told him I'm not interested. He stares at me at work and keeps asking me out. He's kinda creeping me out. I don't want to be rude to him because he's one of my really good friend's best friends.

I am shy, but once woman get to know me, they like me. I am about to turn 27, and only been out with a couple of woman for short periods of time. Well theres this really shy girl in my class and she usually looks over at me and when i look up she quikly turns away and i would see her almost whenever i go to my classes and when she looks at me and i look at her bac she turns away, smiles and blushes. Then i decided id talk to her but i got suspended for 3 days and when i finally come bak for a day she didnt even bother to look at me anymore and to make it worst i get suspended again! so i wont be back till monday i dont know wat to do! i really need some help cause the second time i didnt even do anything i dont want her to hate me cause i really like her she's so cute, adorable, sweet , and i love seein her smile cause she makes me feel good inside cause she rarely ever does i already hate myself but i dont want her to hate me too . i think i am really in love with this girl after my last gf that ended like crap please be serious i dont want any rude comments or answers just something that can help me or just something nice.

Okay... can someone teach me how to go up to a random cute guy & talk to him with confidence, and not worry about whether he is attracted to me or not?

Here's my problem: On *some* days I think I'm pretty, but I never know if guys think so too. And beauty is subjective, so you never know what others are thinking. I find it's easier for me to be confident if I feel like a guy is thinking I'm pretty... but sometimes I don't feel that they do. I'm not one of those definitely-gorgeous-at- all-times girls, and i'm not flat out ugly. So it's hard to know what other people see...

Yes, I know I'm going to get a bunch of answers that say "be yourself" and "go with your personality" and all that. Well, I do have a great personality, and I know it. But what I'm thinking about right now is the beauty part, b/c that's important too.

Also, what are some appropriate or inappropriate places to do this?

I was planning to invite this girl I like to bowl. I was planning to tell her:

Hey, are you gonna do something today?
Wanna go bowling?

And if she says yes, I plan to tell her:
Ok. You can invite someone if you want.


Is this a good idea for meeting her, n'all? Just so she doesnt feel all weird with me and my friend (Who I am planning on inviting too, and she doesnt know really well)

I think this might make her like it more than of she went with people she didnt know.

How long is too long to wait before wanting to see someone you like again? I had plans last Sat with a guy that likes me (I like him too) but he totally blew them off at the last min for work..over TEXT MESSAGE! He called the next day and left a nice message, but I called him back and he didn't answer. He never called me back either. I saw him on Monday at out gym and he came right up to me telling me that he'd be around in the next couple days..he's been slammed with work and he has to go out of twn next week for training. But I haven't heard from him and it's thursday! I think I got blown off, and rudely, too. I don't know how to act around him now when I see him at the gym cause the truth is, I'm kinda pissed! How freakin hard is it to pick up a phone and cancel plans? I know he's single, he's a little shy and reserved, maybe he IS slammed with work...He REALLY seemed to like me and I'm totally clueless now. He was the one who kept suggesting we hang out..WTF?

I left my ex for the guy I'm with now. My ex never treated me bad,and was great to my son. My son and I both were in love with him. We got along all right and everything. But my ex could not keep a job and we had split up for about 2 weeks. We were still together just not living together. One night I was over at my buddy's house drinking and I met this other guy. This guy has a job a car and I love his personality. So, I left my ex for this new boyfriend(that I'm still with). This new guy is awesome. I have never been with somebody and felt like I could talk to them like they were my best friend. So, the problem is- My ex is still in love with me I think. He'll call me and pretend to want to know about my son, but then he'll start talking **** about my new b/f and me. He does not know this guy at all. I want my ex to be there for my son and I would like to be friends with him but he keeps acting all crazy. And saying my new guy is gonna hurt me and my son. It's really a stressful thing
