The local TV news here in San Diego routinely gave updates on the welfare of local football and baseball players.
Forget about whether anyone had been hurt. We evidently just HAD to know if members of the Chargers and Padres were affected, because they're, you know, much more worthy than other human beings.
So in this horrific disaster, vapid celebrity worship is still thriving. As my mother used to say, "What the hell is wrong with people?"
On the bright side, that ghastly Fox "News" had Grrraldo Rivera reporting from the fires -- and to prove his bravery, he was standing about ten feet away from some flames that were blowing away from him. The wind suddenly changed direction so that the flames were now angled toward Grrraldo, and suddenly that twit was jumping out of the way as he stammered something idiotic like, "Wow, that's really hot." But he was fine -- which is proof positive that sometimes God DOESN'T answer prayers.
So, what do you think about this nonsense?
