There are many things made out of yarn,
in fact I have quite a few.
I made them as a project to show kindergarten
children what can be made from yarn.
Dolls and toys: We made pom-pom dogs & bears.
Hair for dolls.
Blankets,
Swaeters,
Coats,
Socks, slippers, Baby christenibg outfits,
baby blankets,
cat toys, dog toys
Jewelry,
Pin Cushions
I made a wig this year with purple and silver yarn
(it was attached to a baseball cap)
Barrettes
Headbands,
Swimsuits,
Bun warmers ( for the kitchen & the body)
Ear muffs.
Collars,
Shawls,
Blankets to go under saddles,
Bedspreads
Anything you can wear can be made of yarn.
Yarn is only many stands of thread. So when you consider all the thread that is woven on looms to make all sorts of material and cloth, the list can be extentsive..

* Baseball is made up of a rubber core and cork which is the size of a quater. Than the ball is wound with YARN to how thick the ball is in circumference. A white dometic hide is used to cover it and red waxed stiching stiches it together.

The yarn is looped into skeins and put on a frame. The dye is then painted on with a paint brush and dried. Once it dries, the yarn is rinsed until the excess color comes out. It is best to use white or ecru yarn because it takes the color best. Hope this answers your question.

Lots of things are made from yarn. A scarf, a jumper, gloves, hats and even socks. I can knit myself, but I stick to baby jackets as they are easier and it is more likely that I will finish them! They are also soooo cute.

Good question. I've been known to TELL some good yarns....but many of them are made of something other than wool.
