The Supreme Court has agreed to rule on whether lethal injection amounts to cruel and unusual punishment.
The high court will hear the case of two death row inmates from Kentucky in determining the constitutionality of that form of capital punishment.
All 37 states that perform lethal injections use the same 3 drug cocktail, consisting of an anesthetic, a muscle paralyzer, and a substance to stop the heart.
Death penalty opponents argue that if the condemned is not given enough anesthetic, he can suffer excruciating pain without being able to cry out. What do you think? I don't think its cruel and unusual punishment myself...there are other countries that practice far more barbaric execution than we are in the States....
