I think tupac and elvis would have been, but i don't know about the other two, seems Nirvana got big after Kurt died, and as much as I like the doors it seems they were the same.

Elvis really doesn't fit in with this group because he was 42 when he died and the others were in their 20s. Most of them had a fairly well founded career when they died, and all continue to earn their estates a great deal of money. I couldn't see any of them fading away from the entertainment industry as they aged. They may have altered their future paths a little, although I do believe that Tupac and Jim Morrison would have written poetry as a sideline.

Jim Morrison would have been just as famous. His lyrics and his sensual voice is what made the Doors. Do not question it. Tupac had lyrics and point of views that were phenomenal. The question is, would he have changed as the Genre of Rap has intensly. It has become such a joke to what it was back then. he's qustionable. kurt Cobain would have probably gone down just like metallica. Great music but nothing new now. Don't question Elvis.

Tupac and Nirvana and Elvis were all famous when they were alive (sorry but I'm not so familiar with Jim Morrison). Their death only made their records better selling...
But it is normal, when someone dies and his music or movies are selling even better because you know that it will be the last thing that they made.
I'm also a fan of Aaliyah and Left Eye (from TLC) and they were both famous before and after their death so...

Jim Morrison was famous/infamous before he died. He got lots of press for his antics and huge album sales. Elvis was incredibly famous for years before he died. Movie star, recording artist, performer nothing he did failed. Kurt was on the way. Tupac??? I think his fame centers around his violent death.

tupac, i think would have turned out to be a good role model.
jim morrison, i believe would have wound up in an insane asylum. man had many internal issues.
kurt cobain, probably would have gone behind the scenes and did the writing, but the lime light was too much for him.
elvis, a las vegas lounge act. like most that came out around that time. i believe he only lives on because of when he died.
