I live in Arkansas, so I don't know anything about beaches. I'll admit I've only been to one once (Galveston, but I couldn't swim cause the water was contaminated or something). Still, I don't get what the big draw of them is. Swimming pools are so much better because you have some privacy.
At the beach, everyone is staring at each other (either like a piece of meat if you're hot, or in disgust if you're ugly). I'm not in bad shape, but I sure don't want people staring at me. And I'm a guy. I especially wouldn't think women would.
So why are the beaches in places so crowded? Why do people plan vacations around the beach when they have a pool? I'm open to new ideas, but I totally don't get it any reason why anyone would. Swimming pools are quiet, and even if you can't get to a pool, a water park at least has water slides and stuff.
Anyone who can enlighten me on the greatness of the beach is quite welcome to do so. I would greatly appreciate it!
