There is someone who is going around and giving me thumbs down on nearly every question I answer. That is not nice whoever you are. Anyone can be a coward and hide when they do that. The question is what do you other Y/A folks think about someone doing that???

This is the letter that I sent to Yahoo/Answers in regards to having a sub-category in country music. Tell me what you think and if you support this idea.Thanks



Hello:

I hope that this question is not misdirected and that I can receive an answer to it. I am wondering if Yahoo/Answers would consider opening a sub-category in entertainment-music-country? The current category leaves a lot to be desired insofar as being able to sift through the different questions. There is a distinct difference in today's so-called country music and what we lovers of the classic country music consider real genuine country music.

There are several of us that use Yahoo answers to try and educate others and inform them concerning what classic country music is all about. We have even discussed getting a petition together with names to present to you nice folks when asking for the sub-category I have mentioned previously.

Please let me know if this is even remotely possible as many of us are anxiously awaiting your answer.

I was thrilled to just discover that there's at least one other person on Planet Earth that thinks todays' country & western music sucks out loud. I'm referring to the junk called Pop Country. If some of you artists want to sing country music, then why don't you do it? Are you too embarrassed to yodel, wail and whine like God intended for REAL Country & Western to sound? Ya'll sound just alike with that PC stuff and some of us are now raiding our parents' attics in search of old records by Lefty, Merle, Hank Thompson, Tex Ritter, Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Hank, SR., etc. You all know good & well what I'm talking about. It's an oldies country song about a new baby and I remember the lyrics talking about the parents getting up in the middle of the night to check on the baby why it's crying. I don't think it's that long (maybe a little over 2 minutes). I can't recall any specific lyrics, nor do I have any idea who sings it. Although it could be from the 70's or 80's, it's SOUNDS MORE LIKE THE 50'S AND 60'S.

Any suggestions to the name of this song and who sings it would be greatly appreciated. :)

I cant remember the name of this band that was from ElCampo, Texas. It was 4 guys, it was a country band, they had one song that ever got played on the radio and I think it had something to do with a rose.... Then one of them members died I think in a car wreck and they stopped playing. The used to play Bill Mraz in Houston in the late 80s...... around 85-86. Sometimes we would catch them at Silverwings in Brenham. Anyone remember them or can someone help me search. Ive been searching and searching................ Thanks
