Let us find the saddest song humanity has ever produced.

We are distinguished from the other living things on our world by our ability to conceive not only of our own sorrow, but of the sorrow of others. This song should strike a chord in any person who hears it, regardless of language. In our entire history surely one song has been written to transcend border, race and creed.

What is it?

Criteria:
* Verifiable: Needs a documented resource (mp3, sheet music, etc)
* Evoke feelings of sorrow/depression/etc
* Notable: Should be a published work

Notes:
* Lyrical/Non-lyrical are both acceptable
* Nature of the song should evoke sadness, not necessarily be about the emotion itself
* Song doesn't have to be exclusively sad - great emotional impact can also be found in songs that offer hope/etc balanced with the sadness
* Sadness can be conveyed by sorrow/pain/suffering/apathy/hate/boredom/emptiness/loss/helplessness/etc

when i watched hsm, at first , i thought that the lesson of hsm is

just stick to one thing as song that they hv-stick to the status

quo.but i thought that it is wrong cuz troy didnt stick the one thing

(after all he sang with gaby).at that time i asked u what the hsm

lesson is.and u guz said that the lesson is that just do what u

want although ur frends keep from doing what u want.

but when i think now again abt that the lesson u guz told me is

also wrong.cuz, finally , troy frends and gaby frends encourage to

practise the sch musical thin and when they sang in the

auditorium, their frends looked soooooooooo happy even their

parents too!!

huh?? so..wats the realllllllll lesson of hsm?

What is your absolute favorite song? Also, I prefer recordings of her live performances. One in particular is a rendition of "Fallen".

In my opinion, any fan of hers has an appreciation of the poetry in her lyrics. I'm sick of hearing my friends saying "please turn off this kill me music". LOL.

If I'm driving, I'll pll over and tell them to get out of the car and walk if they don't like the music.

I am writing a paper comparing & contrasting a poem from the 1970s that gives a huge list of dos/donts from a mother to her daughter.

For my comparison/contrast, I want to use a letter my mom wrote to me with advice before starting college as well as some sort of song or recent poem from a mother to a daughter. Any suggestions?
