I was recently watching CNN and I was encouraged to note that America is becoming increasing concerned about Iraq, loss of personal freedom, Bush etc. There was an interview with John Kerry , then they showed footage of a huge anti-war demonstration, I think it was in washington. All of which gave me great hope for the future.

They even had Jane Fonda there, who felt it was time to speak out AGAIN apparently.

This got me thinking. The LAST time they had anti-war marches, Jane Fonda speeches etc the anti war movement also had huge support from the music industry too. Country Joe and the Fish, Jefferson Airplane etc.

I'm curious. Are there any American singer-songwriters or bands which take an active stand against the war in Iraq? .. or has the music business become so commercialised that no-one can make statements like that nowadays?

Please note that this is a question specifically about MUSIC.and the music industry. .. and NOT the many other issues.

It just seems that it became weak after 2002. I know that the subject of sex still sells, but they are beating the "bling-bling", "money" and material posessions to death! I've grown tired of it and think the industry needs to find new material. I don't like any of this "bubblegum rap" either. Songs like "Chain Hang Low". "Chicken Noodle Soup" and "Laffy Taffy" are horrendous to listen to.

However, I can accept T.I., a few cuts from Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz and sometimes Young Jeezy.

When i strum open chords like E minor, or G, or any of those in a chord progression. It gets really muffled, and you cant really hear the chords clear, it just gets really jumbled and all. But when i use barre chords, it does that a little but, but nowhere near as bad. So what could help this? My gear is currently:

BC Rich Warlock Bronze (Seymour Duncan pickups; SH-6 in the bridge, SH-2 in the neck)
Marshall MG-15CD(maybe its CDR)
Crate GX-15
Fender Frontman 15G

I dont use many of them, mainly the marshall. I also dont usually use effects, but when i do it is a Behringer V-amp (the blue multieffects processor with the twin pedals and expression pedal).

So, what do I need to change or do to make the sound better. I have tried lowering the gain but didn't really do any good on any of the amps....

I am going to their concert and would like to know what sound level they play at. 100-140 decibels is the average but not sure about them. So if anyone can answer this or point me in the right direction to get an answer, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

Someone told me two days ago that Level 42 was a better band than the Eurythmics. I told him he was being ridiculous as I am sure Eurythmics had more chart toppers.
