I am going to their concert and would like to know what sound level they play at. 100-140 decibels is the average but not sure about them. So if anyone can answer this or point me in the right direction to get an answer, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

I'm assuming that your concerned about hearing damage at this concert. As you say the average 'rock concert' comes in at 120Db..that's the same as a jet engine firing up. However, ear damage can be caused by volumes much less than this..at about 80Db. If your serious about your hearing..get some 'plugs'..they won;t ruin the experience of the music..they'll just stop you from getting Tinnitus or similar..(constant ringing in ears due to ear damage). If your just interested in how loud they rock..Journey are more 'middle of the road' than say Slipknot, Korn or some of the other metal bands.. so they will be more interested in you listening to the melody and song rather than impact or volume. So it should be OK but the advice on hearing is still applicable.

They played at Monsters of Rock in Milton Keynes last year. Certainly no where near the loudest band I've ever seen. No idea about the decibels though

I went to their concert in George, WA. I don't think they were really any louder than the other two bands, REO and Styx that opened, but the other two bands were better. Journey just isn't the same without Steve Perry, but it was an okay concert.

I don't know about decibels but most rock concerts play very loudly.

they won't be that loud for a rock concert, their style of music is AOR (adult orientated rock), so it is quite soft
