I despised metal when i was younger (I grew up listening to lots of different sh*t) but now I find myself loving alot of metal-core bands. Can anyone suggest any good metal/melodic metal bands? I'm not really into the cookie monster vocals, but I can get past that if the musicanship is good.

To give you an idea on my taste I like Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean, Shadows Fall and Mastadon.

I really h8 leona from the x factor. Does n e body else? I wanted Ben 2 win...there is just this thing about her that i don't lyk...no offence im sure the is a ncie person, but she jsut annoys me. The way she always sings really high notes but just sort of humms them, not belts it out. And the way her tongue wobbles wen she sings a long note. And wasn't Simon Cowell always saying that they don't need another Mariah Carey?? That is jsut wot he has created. It's so annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who else H8's her!?!?!?!

I heard this beat in the Gym today, and Im not quite sure what it is. I aint got that many lyrics, but somewhere all I heard was "put your hands up". Its a (black) rap hit (just so I can describe it) and its got a really catchy beat. Its also got random shrieks of women going "argh" or "ahh" in the background.

Its quite famous (I presume) though from my description it does sound a bit ... . Please gimme the name of it and the artist if you have any suggestions!

I just listened to one of his songs (if you can call it a song) and it was soooo bad that I literally thought someone was scratching a chalkboard!! Please help explain the fascination with him. He is not attractive, he sings like a girl - when he uses more than one sentence in a song - it is pitiful.

We know that there has always been some form of pop music, a genre where the quality of the songs or music is less important than the image or gimmickry employed by the performer, but I think it has gradually gotten worse to the point that all of pop music is devoid of real musical talent altogether. Where we used to have musicians, we now have machines and producers. I believe that music is a gift not to be squandered on superficiality and stardom. What happened? Did the audience stop caring?
