We know that there has always been some form of pop music, a genre where the quality of the songs or music is less important than the image or gimmickry employed by the performer, but I think it has gradually gotten worse to the point that all of pop music is devoid of real musical talent altogether. Where we used to have musicians, we now have machines and producers. I believe that music is a gift not to be squandered on superficiality and stardom. What happened? Did the audience stop caring?

It use to be special when a band appeared on TV, or you heard your favorite song on the radio. Now, you get access to anything you want, any time. There's no waiting.

Songs don't stay in the charts for long periods anymore. Just too many bands trying to make it and the market is flooded. Think about how many bands over the past 15 years who are true superstars and will have careers that last 30 or more years and the hits to support being in the public eye.
