After an update, my iTunes won't play the music on my iPod. I click on devices ---> my ipod; then music, and all it says is, "sync music." How can I get my iTunes to play the music from my iPod?

1. the song that played in the commercail where the guy is walking through the store and all the bands names are on the foods and stuff (korn vanilla ice ect.)
2.the song playing in the commercail where the 2 guys are in the subway and theres a tv in front of them and there singing to a game (ones white and the other guy is black)
