Wow..I love this question! haha!
Ok well, personally my obsession at the moment is the musical Wicked. Not only is the music unbelievable, the plot is genius, the sets are amazing and the actors that iv seen (in London, Idina Menzel and Helen Dallimore) are brilliant!
Then there's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, by andrew llyod webber. The whole thing is done through song and the melodies and songs are soo good! they change from slow heart gripping songs, to bouncy happy tunes and there's of course the classic song "Close Every Door"
Chicago is another brilliant one. The songs are big, famous and catchy. The format is well presented, and there's some killer dancing. The plot too is really good.
Two relativley unknown musicals which I personally have a soft spot for are Calamity Jane and The Pajama Game. Both are Doris Day classics. Although, the live version of Calamity Jane beats the movie 100%. But it has some really fun upbeat catchy songs and is such a fun musical that its hard no to love it! The characters are brilliant! The pajama game is also a funny family fun musical!
my list is endless and if you want to know bout any more musicals just feel free to ask me! hope ive been of some help!
