I've never played an instrument before other then the recorder in elementry. I'm buying a guitar tomorrow for a new hobby. Is music hard to learn how to read and what about playing guitar. What are some good sites or books to learn from? I plan to take lessons in the new year but want a sound understanding before. I hope I don't get frustrated and give up.

Hello,
I am getting my son a acoustic guitar for Christmas.
We have seen one he might like.
Its an Ibanez V72E(in black), it says got a onboard tuner!

This means nothing to me! Im musically challenged!!
Are guitars ok with on board tuners? Any benefits or negatives from on board tuner?

My son is only 9 but been playing for year and a half (outgrown smaller acoustic guitar)
Any input appreciated
