I don't play any instruments but I do have a few ideas for some songs....should I write it in a poem form and have every two sentences rhyme with each other and make changes later? Is that a good way? Or should I write it in a "story telling" format?

I remember parts of the song. It was popular in 1998. I live in Canada. I have no artist name. Here are parts of the song " . . . instead of pumping gas, I dream of you. I got thrown out of my house, I've got such a bad reputation, cause all I want to do is be seen with you. They gave me my pay and said WALK, I don't care what they say, GO AHEAD, let em all talk!!! Cause when the world falls apart, I wanna be with you, I wanna be with you. . . . . ." I can't remember the rest. It talks about working at the "Texaco Station".
