I'm trying to expand my iTunes music library. Can you recomend me good artists/songs similar to what I listen to? I mostly like alternative rock like 30 seconds to Mars, Evanescence, Muse, Coldplay, U2, the killers, the strokes, The goo goo dolls, flyleaf, the sounds, Switchfoot, Alanis Morissette, and many more.

Thank you

I do Indie/Pop/Folk/Rock. My music sounds most like artists like Michelle Branch, John Mayer, Teddy Geiger, and Howie Day. ALthough I started writing songs a year and a half ago, and first started playing piano when i was 5, I never had a chance to record my stuff until a person at church let me borrow their equipment. I'm really excited about this!! My parents might finally even let me have a myspace to put my music on! It is going to be an 8 track CD, and I've thought of some titles. You can also make your own suggestion.

1) My Shangri La
2) Over and Over
3) Cross the Road
4) Falling Forward

For those of you who don't know, "Shangri La" is an Eastern term for a state of heaven on earth. Most of my songs will be about falling and getting back up "Over and over" again, and about going forward and never turning back. "Cross the Road", was one I came up with when thinking about overcoming life's fears and obstacles. It's also the name of a song on the album. THanks for helping!

probably mid 80s, female singer, sounds like an american soft rock band. starts with (from memory) something you've heard, something you've seen, too real to ignore, you chose not to believe... chorus is 'we just can't escape it'. lots of 'la la's as well.. all i can remember for sure. something that sounded like 'we never learn but we know it's too late (.. something...) but you're not here!'

I'm singing a song in a performance. Its a great song, sung by a female, so its within my range. The thing is that it switches from my lower range to my higher range (choir wise I'm a first soprano) in th emiddle of the song. The switch sounds -to me at least- bad, becuase I start out the verse sounding rough and rockish, and end in the higher notes, where my voice is very smooth and not typical of rock.

So... are there any ways to disguise the obvious swith between ranges? Any general suggestions on how to get a better sound? Thanks so much!
