I have no idea who sings it or what the title is (obviously).I absolutely love it and can't for the life of me figure out what it is....here's a piece of it...

I love interesting or funny song, word and popular saying origins. The person with the best one(s) get the ten points!

An example of my own:

According to a song lyrics site I was reading, (I can't remember which one, *sadface*) The song Eleanore by the Turtles was written as a satirical look at pop songs, because their record company was making them sing poppy songs like "So Happy Together" and they wanted to sing other types of music.

This probably explains the "you're my pride and joy, etc." line. XD
