My daughter heard this song that she loved and I cannot find it for her. She said the song is sung by a male, POSSIBLY Country?/Christian, she's not sure what radio station she heard it on ..but the premise is that he has a bad childhood, and doesn't want to remember it, then becomes someone who sees a child and recognizes what is going on for that child by remembering his own past. She says the chorus is something like Don't Forget about yesterday...and something about God and prayer? She seemed to get the feeling the person grows up to be a teacher (?) and recognizes the signs of abuse and then because he chooses NOT to forget his childhood (thus God uses something bad for good)...he helps someone else.
