"I long to put the experience of fifty years
at once into your young lives, to give you at
once the key of that treasure chamber every
gem of which has cost me tears and struggles
and prayers, but you must work for these
inward treasures yourselves."

Harriet Beecher Stowe, 1811-1869
AMERICAN AUTHOR AND ABOLITIONIST

Yahoo editorial: pre liberal whine, exact quote.
Consider this: How can the move towards victory in an ongoing war be measured by the mere existence of violence or by its intensity? While a war is taking place, it is - of course and of necessity - comprised of violent acts. Yet because the question raised by Senator Reid had been about whether we had been victorious in the war, he made an unnecessary and confused statement. Yes, the war is not yet over, America has neither won nor lost decisively, and it is precisely for that reason that one must expect to see the violence one sees in wartime. But in Mr. Reid's statement, he misguidedly concluded that the US-led coalition had utterly lost the war in Iraq, just because the enemy still attacks and counter-attacks.

But then, if one reflects on what the highest figure in the Senate has said, one would conclude that he and other like-minded politicians defy the implacable reality of logic.

how refreshing they FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!!!!

Hi,

I write jazz for enjoyment. I'm thinking of trying to sell what I write. The only way I know of right now is to rent studio time, hire musicians, and then put together a demo CD, and I'll probably spent at least $2-5000 once I've hired people to play, and paid the studio. I don't have money to do that kind of thing right now, and I'm not sure that will be that successful. I can put lead sheets, etc together also. I don't know if there's another way than doing a CD or not. And if I do a CD, I'm not quite sure how to market it also. It's a little confusing right now.

thanks for your help.
