Do you prefer the original artist or the remake in your music?

My girlfriend just had the audacity of proclaiming Faith No More's rendition of "War Pigs" better than the Black Sabbath version. Now I'd be the first to admit some remakes are better than the original and here are a few I'd stick my neck out on. Feel free to weigh in on any of my choices and add a few from your collection:

Peal Jam's version of "Masters of War" better than Bob Dillon

Concrete Blonde's, "Everybody Knows" better than Leonard Coen (sp?)

Bo Bice's accapella version of "In a dream" slightly better than Badlands

Paige and Plants '94 version of "Hangman" better than Zeppelin's original

Nirvana's "Lake of Fire" better than the Meat Puppets

David Lee Roth's "Tobacco Road" better than Rare Earth

Motley Crue's "Smokin' in the Boy's Room" better than Brownville Station

Disturbs "Land of Confusion" So much better than Genesis....and I dug the original & "Shout" by Tears for Fears.

Red Hot Chili Peppers "Higher Ground" better than Stevie

Howie Mandel??

I was wondering why my mom hates Howie Mandel so much? I think he is doing great things on Deal or No Deal, but my mom says that everything he does on there is for his own pesonal gain. I don't think ALL of it is for himself. I loved last weeks episode. Did he do something in his past to make a lot of people dislike him??

Is the quality of music the same on a CD as it is on the iTunes Music Store.?

Also--If I buy a CD, and then import it into iTunes; does the quality lessen.

I am a music fanatic and want the best quality music possible. I want to make sure that music downloaded from online is good, and that putting music on my iPod doesn't lessen the quality.

I will personally choose a best answer. Thank You!
