Also--If I buy a CD, and then import it into iTunes; does the quality lessen.

I am a music fanatic and want the best quality music possible. I want to make sure that music downloaded from online is good, and that putting music on my iPod doesn't lessen the quality.

I will personally choose a best answer. Thank You!

putting music on your Ipod through Itunes will lessen the quality noticeably iif your used to listening to the same music on a top quality sound system. However the drop in sound quality isn't so severe that it is worth the file size almost tripling to receive CD quality playback. whilst it is possible to achieve this, the number of tracks you will be able to fit on your Ipod will be severely limited.

Its also worth noting that the headphones you get with an i-pod are pants and you'd also need to go out and buy a new pair if you want to get any real bennifit out of changing the recording quality too.

No, I haven't really seen a difference in quality.
While you are importing songs from a CD, the songs will sound fuzzy, but when it is finished, sound quality returns to normal.

i say a CD, but actually a record player has the best sound quality for the highest notes over something hertz.
