I live in the US and am curious if it is getting more difficult as well in other countries to meet new people, (friends of the same and opposite sex) .

People seem to just live more and more of a sheltered life , work, watch tv at home, maybe go to a restaurant on the weekend . Their lives are closed really. And even they all drive individual cars so not even public transport to "chat someone up" !

of course their is work or class, but it is even getting more discouraging to meet people there!
