It's not the movies depiction. IT IS A GRAPHIC NOVEL BY FRANK MILLER. So what is the problem against the movie and not the very large comic book? Stop with the anit iranian/persian crap. In all reality it just showed the Spartans being hotheaded men and the Persians being kind, but will lay force when needed to.
Please stop ruining movies and other forms of entertainment but degrading them with your anti-whatever slogans.

Well, the first and main intention of this movie is just to make money and harvest some profit.
it is made for pure entertainment only and historically is worthless. Considering this fact, it shouldn't be a concern that this movie was anti Persian or not. Just go and watch it but never ever judge a historical event just by watching a movie specially when it was made by Hollywood !!!
Persians were the greatest empire then and their role in promoting science, technology, art and engineering was amazing. Many scientists from other nations were immigrating to Persia since their efforts were well compensated and highly respected.
Many other good things such as first human right declaration was initiated by Persians which can be found in History books.
Filing petitions and making a big controversy on that, is exactly what directors and investors want. It helps the movie to sell more. Its simple as that.

Good grief. People turn anything into anti-(fill in the blank) anymore. What happened to just going to see a movie for pure entertainment?
Persia is not around anymore technically as those events occurred BCE. So that point is moot. The film is not anti-Iranian either as Iran did not come into existance until circa the 20th century AD.
Times were alot rougher back then. People didn't have the luxuries they do today. They were simply portraying an event in history as it was believed to happen. If they filmed it "pro-Persian", half the cast would have been without a paycheck. Not to mention, rulers were very tyrannical and power hungry even then.
If you preferred the Persian characters, that's fine. However to make the presumption that the film was anti-Persian/Iranian is beyond ridiculous.

Not exactly. It is just how Hollywood makes money.
They can't exactly sell tickets without having killings could they?
Right now they have a 1 hour show on VOA/Persian about this movie. Many Iranians are mad because of how the history got twisted, same with many greeks who don't like the way the movie portrays the Spartans. Hollywood always always always changes the story.

It was just telling the story. But only one person of the Persian army looked Persian.

I think you can look at it as a parable for anything you want.
But maybe Iran should have a look at this movie and refresh their memories about what happens when you make war with the biggest bad asses on the planet.
Hey the movie rocked. But it was of course historically very inaccurate, more Hollywood BS, but who would expect anything else?
