I will not get to watch the Great Commercials that are broadcasted unless they paid to broadcast them in Canada as well!! And most do not!! so on Sunday I get to watch sucky Canadian Commercials! RIP OFF??

To prevent it from being stolen, I have removed parts of the bridge, closing and last few lines of chorus. I'm writing for my band called Random Inspiration, and it's composed to an acoustic pop genre with a little unusual beat. The asterisks show the parts which have been removed.

it's from the mid nineties, the guy singing it is male. it's a ballad of sorts, melancholy.,silently angry but resigned.
it begins (not sure if it's the second verse or the first):
my best friend took a week's vacation to forget her
his girl took a week's worth of value and left him
now he's guilt stricken solace with his head on the floor...

for the life of me
i cannot remember
what made us think taht we were wise and we'd never compromise

I know the original was by Donovan, and is featured on the Fruity Cheerios commercial. But there's another, newer cheerios commercial (so far I've only heard it while the kids were watching the Disney channel) that features the same song, but with a "younger" beat.

I love the happy old Donovan version, but the new one sounds pretty good, too. Anyone know who does it? thanks!
