Well, actually, it's not me. My mum got called away halfway through watching Inspector Morse today, to the old dog and bone. She's now very curious to know how it ends. I'm on a mission to fill in a few gaps. I'm good to my Mum.

From what she has told me, I have deduced it was Episode 16 called "Second Time Around". The summaries online basically give the following:

"A deputy Police Commissioner Charlie Hillian is killed in his home and a page is taken from his memoirs, leading Morse to suspect that the murder is connected to one of Hillian's previous cases. A rival of Morse's and friend of Hillian, Insp. Dawson spots a link with the unsolved murder of a young girl 18 years earlier. To find the latest killer they have to unravel the first case again."

Has anyone seen this one lately?

Can anyone give me a nice detailed synopsis of the story, including the all important who-actually-dunnit?
