give him some nice oats with an crunchy apple cut up in them and some nice alfalfa or those crunchy horse treats. And cover him up with a horse blanket if you have one.

let him inside too... in medieval times it was quite common to have farm animals living in the house with you... you could even build a byre on one end of your house... sounds like good times to me...
