Believe me, I live here, it's not. Not just Louisville and Lexington, but even the small towns throughout the state have some of the nastiest, sourless, impolite jerks anywhere. I've met people from Michigan, Dallas, Maryland, and NYC that had much more class and manners than most of the people from KY. Not long after you leave KY and cross into TN, it's like a whole different world; anywhere from Texas and Oklahoma to Tennessee and the Carolinas, Southern hospitality is alive and well.
I always smile, I'm friendly, and use good manners ("yes ma'am, no sir, etc.) Somebody explain this to me...
