I have never been there, but have ALWAYS wanted to visit. I would like input from anybody who has spent time there, and particularly those who are native or transplants to NC.

I've heard the following things about NC:
-"You won't find a prettier state anywhere." - A friend from NC
-"People don't honk their horns there like they do here (in Kentucky, where we live.)" - That same friend
-NC folks are friendly
-It has great educational institutions, public and private
-It has diversity in geography
-The cities are awesome, lively, and multicultural
-The climate is great

I would like to finally visit this upcoming spring. Would it be worth the trip?
