I have never been there, but have ALWAYS wanted to visit. I would like input from anybody who has spent time there, and particularly those who are native or transplants to NC.
I've heard the following things about NC:
-"You won't find a prettier state anywhere." - A friend from NC
-"People don't honk their horns there like they do here (in Kentucky, where we live.)" - That same friend
-NC folks are friendly
-It has great educational institutions, public and private
-It has diversity in geography
-The cities are awesome, lively, and multicultural
-The climate is great
I would like to finally visit this upcoming spring. Would it be worth the trip?

I live in Western North Carolina and I think it is a beautiful state that has a lot to offer. I am a transplant from California and am very happy with everything you mentioned above.
I also have a daughter in College and am very pleased with the quality of her university.
I highly recommend NC as a good vaction spot. The state runs a good website ( http://www.VisitNC.com ) that has good info about the areas and events.
You can view photos and send ePostcards of Western North Carolina at this site: http://www.SpringHillMerchant.com/ePostcard/ . Many of the photos on this site are from the Blue Ridge Parkway which is a beautiful vacation destination.

It is totally worth the visit. I think North Carolina is the prettiest state. It has everything. Flat land, mountains, beaches. The larger cities are great for culture and night life. The summers are not too hot, and the winters don't get too cold. It has some of the greatest schools in the country (Duke, Chapel Hill). Even the smaller schools are great. I went to UNC-Pembroke. If you even visit during the fall I suggest visiting the Ashville or Boone area to view the changing leaves. The beaches are a great summer spot. You will love it so much when you visit that you might want to stay.

I know one thing...all major banks came from NC....Bank of America, BB & T, SunTrust, & Wachovia.
My husband is going to Raleigh on a business trip this week, he's not sure about NC either.
The Outer Banks are cool.
I would visit if it's a free trip to see your friend.
Not sure why all banks are out of NC....oh well.
Happy New Year!

North Carolina is a "no-fault" divorce state, so which you would be able to not acquire an absolute divorce on the grounds of adultery. you nevertheless would desire to attend one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. even inspite of the shown fact that, you would be able to report for a "divorce from mattress and board," which severs the rights bobbing up from marriage, including the nicely suited to inherit, establishes marital fault which may well be useful in different components of your divorce including alimony, and would on occasion be used as a potential to eject an at fault better half from the marital place of abode.

I camped out near Kitty Hawk beach when I was in 5th grade one summer with my mom and my sister. It was probably one of the best spots to spend time and chill in the USA. Then there's this long bridge that turns into an under the ocean tunnel there, very cool.

I was stationed there. Just like any other state. It has its good points and its bad points. If you do go there are some fun bars in Fayetteville. Stop by Fort Bragg and say hi to my old unit for me. Visit the military museums on post also. They are nice.

I like it. I'm in Virginia so I go there a lot. my best way to describe it is that it's basically southern, but a lot less ignorant and redneck-ish than other southern states. but I'm not really a fan of the climate
