Hi, I was wondering if someone could suggest some good sad/love story/drama movies (excuse the "good sad" oxymoron, lol). I like ones like:

The Notebook
Untamed Heart
Titanic

... with a bitter-sweet ending I guess you could call it.

Thanks a bunch!!! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And try backing up the point if you are pro-James Blunt. His music basically repeats itself, and do I need to mention the annoying voice.

Hopefully Yahoo Answers doesn't delete my question this time because it is probably someone working there that loves him so much that they find the need to delete my question and give me -10 points!

I have just seen some episodes or Lost, Heroes, Jericho, Lost Room, Day Break, all decent enough (Heroes especially) but they all seem to add a twist to existing ideas rather than be original.
Lost: The most original but a mix of the Prisoner, Robinson Crusoe, etc.
Heroes: Xmen, mutant x
Day break: Groundhog day
jericho: Last Man on Earth, Omega Man, On the Beach, etc.

Anyone got any good ideas?

Here is mine:
New Earth: 1977 and a guy goes to sleep and wakes up in a strange place. He finds a town populated by people from different countries at different times in the 20th century - japenese soldier, russian commissar, American miner, etc.. The town allows no one to leave (prisoner like?) and each episode focusses on another new arrival (each at a later year on Earth), plans to escape or 'experiments' they have to carry out.

Once upon a time John, and Pamela lived in canada. His mother Jessica from America came to visit and she suspects of a relationship between the two, and this had onlymade her more curious.

Reading his mom's thoughts, John volunteered,"I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Pamela and I are just roommates."

Than about 3 days later Jessica heads back to America.

About 4 days later, Pamela came to John saying,"Ever since your mother left, I've been unable to find the silver sugar bowl. You don't suppose she took it do you?"
"Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure." So he sat down and wrote:

Dear mother,
I'm not saying that you "did" take the sugar bowl from my house,I'm not saying that you "did not" take it. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you left back to America.

Love,
John.

Several days later, Joe received an email from his mother which
read:

Dear Son,

I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Pamela, and I'm not saying that you "do not" sleep with her. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the sugar bowl by now.

Love,
Mom.

the new on if the old one was different is what i am talking about...i just saw it yesterday and it made me cry and not many movies make me cry

i believe that there was feminism in the theme...i believe that it was trying to show how a woman loses everything including her love and her family because of something she was forced to become and this is done to her simply because she is a woman...a man feels he has the right to buy her for himself and when she is forced to be sold to someone else she is traitor--he doesnt care for her respect only that she BELONGS to him...and her family doesnt realize that this poor girl was kidnapped and sold and didnt know what she was becoming as she was too young--they only see her as a prostitute who humiliated the family...
as the theme song "agle janam" suggests, this is the fate of women to be scorned by society who determines their position and then mocks them for being in it.
i would like to see what others think..
