A blonde goes into the world wide communication center.
She wants to send a message to her mother in Poland.
When the man tells her it will be $300 she says loudly,
"I don`t have any money... But I would do ANYTHING to get a message to my mother in Poland."
The man says "ANYTHING" ?
The blonde says "Yes... ANYTHING".
The man says, "Follow me."
He leads her to the next room and tells her, "Come in and close the door." She does.
He then says, "Get on your knees."
She does.
He then says, "Go ahead... Take it out."
She takes it out and takes hold of it with both hands.

Beat shift?

-That's the best way I can describe how in some songs the beat starts out one way and, by a shift in the instruments, the timing of the beat seems to shift. Not really so much the timing, I guess, but the point that the beat 'hits' in each cycle. It's almost like those optical illusions where a picture of cubes seems to point one way then the other depending on what part you concentrate on. Is there a name for this? Am I making ANY sense?

Which holiday tune makes you the most nostalgic? Which is your favorite? Which ones make ya cringe?

Love the Holidays! And the season's music always makes me feel warm and happy. Hearing "Sleigh Ride" performed instrumentally makes me think back to High School Band and the lift I'd get from us playing that in each year's Christmas Concert. Loved to hear the drummer's slap the wood for a nice resounding whip crack, and just felt lifted by the harmony, finishing with Trendel T doing the horse neigh on his trumpet to close. Just made my Christmas. Thanks Mr. A for insisting we play that one each year!

"Come all ye Faithful" feels very spiritual and moving, as I stand with family in the church for the midnight service...

Yet I can't stand all the sappy renditions of pop Holiday tunes by current artists! Don't they realize that no one is ever going to do it better than Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby and Dean Martin and all those guys??!!??
