I think it's always safe to buy anything in "pairs/sets" for in-laws. Maybe a couple of photo frames or photo albums with the imprint "His" and "Hers", or "Mom" and "Dad". Or a pair of table lamps would be great (if they don't have any), but of course that would be a much more costly gift, depending on your budget.

Never ever give stuff like shampoo or food. I mean, Most in-laws view their daughter/son in-law with suspicion, and would probably regard stuff like shampoo or any body-cleansing product with suspicion "... as if I only bathe once a week..." or "... How rude... like I smell of fish!!!".

But if you and your in-laws have a great understanding of each other and are close, then you can get them anything you like cos they won't mind what you get for them, cos they know it's the intention that counts.

LOL Lokbomb is retarded! In-laws are picky so I would suggest a gift card or getting a homemade basket with goodies made up and submit as a gift for both your in-laws.

Swarovski crystal makes a nice gift. They have a number of decorative pieces. Also Godiva Chocolates.

Those two are my standby gifts when I don't know exactly what to give.
