Hi, I'm doing a report on advertising, and I need the opinions of business owners who have used various advertising methods.

I also would like the opinions of consumers too! What ads do you pay attention to? Ones in the newspaper, on tv or the radio, etc? What kind of ads annoy you? What kind of ads do you like? And so on...

The mediums I'm focusing on are: newspaper, television, direct mailings, magazines, radio, and internet ads (keyword, banner, pop-up, etc).

If you could tell me what has and hasn't worked for you, that would be really helpful!

Or if you know of people who have used any of these methods and had success or failure, tell me about it.

I need lots of opinions! The more the better!

PS: It's really important for me to have opinions on all the mediums I mentioned, so if you have any experience with any of them, please let me know about it!

This morning I was listening to a radio (in California) and a young DJ ask the question......."who won as the Governer of the United States" I thought he was joking but he was serious.....he thought Arnold Swatznegger was the Governer for the entire united states, and that the mayor of LA county was the mayor for New York, Chicago etc........He was informed on air how it works.......

He then went on to say he doesnt know the system because he cant vote because hes a convicted felon, he just found out last week in front of Albertson's grocery store.......

Should there be a level of responsibility for radio personalities, so we dont give the wrong message to the youth listening ?

Then the "Breaking News" ends exactly when your favorite show ends and you keep wondering, "What the heck went on on that episode?" And then, you have to wait till' tommorrow to see the next episode. the bad part is, I was just watching What I Like About You, and now this stupid "Breaking News" came up showing live footage of George Bush talking and it's showing this on every channel and it's really annoying!!!!!

I mean, obviously it is literally the "war in Iraq". What I mean is, why do we put the "war on obesity" or the "war on poverty". Yes, they are conflicts, but why is the word "war" abused like that. If you were going to the movies would you rather go to the theatre or a drive-in? I fortunetly live close enough to a drive-in to enjoy it. You can bring your own food, wear what you want(nobody can see what you are wearing), you can smoke, or even drink. I wish they would make a come back.
