What is the meaning of "Baggage" in the movie, Rent?

Mimi and roger are talking about baggage, and then they gay black dude is talking about not having much baggage to lay at angel's feet. what is baggage? aids? pregnancy? literally baggage?

What are legal ways to cure boredom?

tried out for or been on a game show?

I tried out for Jeopardy once and felt like a total moron! That test was so hard, only 3 out of 100 people passed it. I had to go home and put on my helmet and have a cocktail.
