I think I worded my question badly! I mean what attracts you to a musical performer? Sorry! If somebody wasn't a very good singer but they always performed with passion, would you still be a fan of theirs?

A good musician or a star, whatever that is? Don't confuse the two! Looks have absolutely nothing to do with how good a musician someone is. Talent is an absolute requisite, of course. Having perfect pitch would be a huge help to anyone who wanted to excel musically. A passion for music -- listening, performing, creating -- would also be a great boon to any would-be musician. Motivation to get off the couch and work at his music would be even better. The main ingredient -- the hard work part -- that you seem to have left out of the equation is practice. It is more important than any of the other qualities you mentioned. Practice, practice, practice. When you get the piece perfect, go through it three times more to be sure it wasn't a fluke. Practice. Then practice some more. Don't just practice the finished product, practice the building blocks that make it. If your instrument is voice or piano, for example, do scales until the whole house is sick of them, then do a few more. Hone your skills to a fine edge. Then work on a finished piece of music.

A good musician is someone who has the ability to touch an audience, to connect, to have an emotional effect on them, this comes from inside, it is part of your character moulded by your experiences good and bad.

To connect with an audience you have to give them what they need, not what they think they want or you think they want, but what they actually need.

Good sense of rhythm is essential, more important than a nice voice or sweet sounding instrument.

The person who said good looks is talking rubbish, there are plenty of talentless good lookers and some very talented ugly people.

Passion is desirable but not essential. There are plenty of people who are passionate about their music and are still useless. There are others who are not that passionate but still have a certain talent, although talent and passion is best of all.

Performing music with an instrument and or voice is an act of communication, that is fundamental.

This answer seems too cheesy, but it really is a combination of the three. You have to have the talent to begin with, but you need to look good performing. And of course, even natural skills won't be enough to keep up with the competition unless you have a lot of passion and continue to practice.

I think it's a combination of talent, passion and practice. You can have the talent but waste it, you can have passion but no skills, and without practice it's all irrelevant. Looks don't mean anything when it comes to being a good musician. Sure they help in pop culture, but that's where airbrushing comes in.

Passion, Passion, Work, Work, Work, Talent - in this order...:-))) But also from certain level up - Brains. Looks do not make a good musician, but certainly make a good musical career going.

A. (a classical musician himself)

The ability to STFU when others are soloing! Music isn't all about 1 person! From your list I'd say talent!
