Can you identify this 80's movie?

I'm looking for a scary movie that came out some time in the mid 80's. I can't remember much of it but it involved something to do with bad things happening in a dream-state or unconscious state. It is NOT Nightmare on Elm Street. There is one scene where the bad guy and the guy that is unconscious are together on a train. You can see out the train window but it is really dark and looks strange. The bad guy is just a normal looking person but with really pale skin and a pointy chin. If you can tell me the right movie, I will give you the 10 points. I am dying to know what this is. I liked it but I have no other recollections about it because it was so long ago.
