Because a lot of people don't know and a large portion wouldn't care. Sad, but true. In Europe gypsies have a horrible reputation as thieves and con men and, let's face it, Americans don't give a damn about homosexuals. They have no rights, are ostracized by a large portion of their fellow citizens, and in some circles concerned "evil." And of course everybody who talks about the holocaust never mentions Russia's own holocaust which they perpetrated against many of the same people that the Germans killed: Blacks, jews, the handicaped and mentally ill, and yes, gypsies, too. Like I said, sad but true.

Actually, there have been some movies about these two groups. They're just not very well known.

Here's one about the plight of homosexuals by the Nazis:
Bent (1997)

The film version is adapted by the playwright, Martin Sherman, and closely follows his play's story of two gay concentration camp victims who are sent to Dachau and who fall in love, using their relationship as an emotional crutch in their efforts to rebuff the horror of the Holocaust. Max (Clive Owen), would rather wear a yellow star and proclaim himself a Jew than be lanced with the pink triangle that designates homosexuality. Horst, (Lothaire Bluteau) chastises him for his homophobia. Later the tables turn on Max, who finds--through Horst--the strength both to keep alive indefinitely and to ultimately embrace his sexual identity.

While I have never heard of a movie detailing the plight of gay and other "undesirables" during Hitler's purges in WWII, a movie which kind of touches on the persecution gay men faced in Russia during the years-long murder spree of Andrei Chikatilo, called "Citizen X" will give a good idea what they went through.

It's media sensationalism- Hitler and his treatment of Jewish peoplke was the target. Case in point-- They don't make movies about Stalin because the USSR hid it so well, and he wasn't on the front pages of the papers every day , even though he was more sadistic, evil, and killed more people than Hitler ever did.

that would be so cool, but people have learned to think of Jewish people when they hear the word holocaust, which is, of course understandable. however, a movie like u suggest would definitly draw an audience, i know that i would pay good money to see it. Great idea!!! thx for showing me that i'm not the only one who is a holocaust expert!
