I seem to have forgotten the name of a San Francisco based artist who was really big in the late 80's and early 90's and has made somewhat of a comeback over the past 2 years. He (and it is definetely a he) is often strongly associated with the city of San Francisco --- he is also a white artist who sings on his own. Any ideas?

It's okay, I'm 18 years old. I'm just wondering because it always surprises me how annoying and non-musical some of today's "music" is. I just want to hear some different opinions.

Go to this website, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the wav files there (15khz, 16khz, 17khz) see if you can hear them, you might have to turn up your speakers to be able to hear anything.

What is the mosquito? it's a high pitched noise (~17khz) that supposedly only teenagers find annoying. it's used in the UK to help drive teens away from hanging around malls and stuff. supposedly teens can hear it, but adults over 25 can't due to the fact that as you grow older, you start losing the ability to hear higher and higher frequency sounds.

Of course, that depends on how good yoru hearing is, and some adults with good hearing can hear it.
