Who is a San Francisco based artist that was big in the 80's?

I seem to have forgotten the name of a San Francisco based artist who was really big in the late 80's and early 90's and has made somewhat of a comeback over the past 2 years. He (and it is definetely a he) is often strongly associated with the city of San Francisco --- he is also a white artist who sings on his own. Any ideas?

The only one I can think of is Chris Issacks. He had his own show and sang the song "wicked game".
