I have a small toshiba tv/vcr combo. I bought a universal remote but I can't for the life of me get it to work. I've tried everything in the manual and even looked on their website. Any suggestions?

The guy had dark curly hair and wore a one-piece, long-sleeved, black, spandex suit. His costume had the human musculature structure silkscreened on the front. I think he taught kids about health or nutrition. This could have been an actual show or a sketch within a kid's show. I think it was on PBS. If anyone can post any info or leads, that would be GREAT!
