Does anyone know for sure if it is illegal? Does anyone have any stories about it? Now I'm worried, please let me know what you all know? It shouldn't be accessable if it is illegal, right? Thanks!!

File sharing copyrighted material without paying for it or without the artists's permission is illegal, yes. But, Limewire (And all the countless others) still existes because there really is no way to police the internet as of yet. Many of these programs were produced and are based out of the country, and the people in the US cracking down on illegal file sharing cannot shut them down like did to Napster (which was based in California).
If you're worried about getting caught, don't allow others to "share" the files on your computer, so no one can see your illegally downloaded music, or just buy the music legally from iTunes.

Illegal? Yes. Turn sharing off though and don't keep files on your computer for too long and you should be fine.

yes downloading free music off the internet is illegal. if you get caught then you get a fee that you have to pay. but many many peopl have illegal music programs where they download music for free. so there arent much chances of you getting caught. just dont get kazaa

It's not illegal. it is simply a share site were every computer that is connected to the system can share files with any other computer connected to the system.

If it were illegal, it wouldn't be free. So, download now as much as you can before they start charging you for it!

the illegal part is that you are infringing copyright material and you are not paying royalties to the singer/artist when u r downloading those songs.
