(1) i think it's traditionally "on a page" but then what if we are talking about electronic pages for web sites? do we use "on" or "in?"

for example:
"how many words are on this web page?"
"how many words are in this web page?"
or both works?

(2) another question: how about for web sites?
do we say "in a web site" or "on a web site?"

I'm wondering because i was taught to use plural form in the case of using "a number of something" but to use singular form in the case of the number of something

ex : a number of students driving are increasing
the number of students driving is less than before..

I want to say:
"Don't focus on only one star in the sky....look at the entire galaxy and dream..."

Any better phrase (similar or different) for this?(preferly similes which are somehow related to sky and stars)
I want it to be a nice meaningful term, that can be used like a hint.
