Is "hung" as a verb always in the past tense? As an adjective, do you say "hung jury" ? Do you say "hungman" or "hangman"?

I can't think: Defier doesn't sound right!

I read a book called "Public Speaking" by Dale Carnegie. After each chapter there is a segment that lists common mispronounced words. And suprisingly "from" is one of them. It says it should not be pronounced "frum", but rather the "o" should be pronounced like the o in "odd". All this time I've been pronouncing it incorrectly...wow!.
